Mall celebrates 25th anniversary by winning top real estate award from Islamic Conferences Group
Dubai, 23 December 2006: Al Ghurair City, who pioneered the shopping mall concept in the Middle East, has won the Best Retail Development in the UAE 2006 award from the London-based Islamic Conferences Group for its extensive refurbishment, retail development and expansion program that maintained the mall’s traditional Arabic look and feel while creating a modern setting to embrace shoppers from around the world.
The Islamic Conferences Group, which is dedicated to organising major events, investor forums and conferences in creating a better awareness and understanding of the Islamic finance industry, organises the annual Islamic Real Estate Finance – Middle East (IREF-ME) awards to recognise excellence in real estate development in the region. This year’s awards were given away at a ceremony held at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
