Al Ghurair City hosts Cartoons Surprises

Dubai, July 26, 2007: Al Ghurair City, the first shopping mall in the Middle-East has announced yet another exciting event this DSS.
An exclusive event entitled “the Cartoon Surprises” will take place from the 26th of July to the 1st of August. The event will begin with an imaginative pantomime musical. The play will introduce a new addition to the world of cartoon characters, Kristy and the musical costume. From 5.30 pm onwards, Kristy will perform to popular children’s songs thanks to music provided by her magical costume. Children can also sing along to old favourites such as Humpty Dumpty, Incy Wincy Spider amongst others.
The Cartoon Surprises will also include an exclusive exhibition which will highlight a wide variety of collector edition comic books. The World of Cartoons Exhibition will offer current issues of Loony Tunes, Marvel, 2000 AD and Tin Tin but will also feature publications going back 20 years which will be of interest to fans of all ages. The exhibition will also explore the development of cartoon and the history of comic books. Guides will be available to take children on tour. End the tour by watching cartoons from the early days. The World of Cartoon Exhibition will take place at Al Ghurair City from the 26th of July to the 1st of August and will be open from 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
In addition the Cartoon Interactive Workshop will introduce the basic elements of cartoon drawing and figure drawing with materials used by professional cartoonists. Children and other participants will also learn how to develop story lines.
Competitions will also take place daily; participants will be judged on their creativity rather than their technique and could win exciting Modhesh boxes filled with great prizes.

The Cartoon Surprises will take place at Al Ghurair City from the 26th of July to the 1st of August, although entrance is free, it is best to arrive early to avoid disappointment!
